The Kansas Department of Health and environment is currently monitoring 39 clusters of Covid-19 in the state.

A cluster is a group of 2 or more infections linked to a single source.  KDHE Secretary Dr. Lee Norman says those 39 clusters are responsible for 639 cases, 111 hospitalizations, and 56 deaths.

14 of the clusters are in long-term care facilities like nursing homes, two group living arrangements, Lansing Correctional Facility, two health care facilities, 5 religious gatherings, and 15 private businesses.  One of the religious gatherings was a conference that took place at the Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ in Wyandotte County.

The conference has led to at least 51 cases of Covid-19 and the deaths of 7 people, including a new death that happened over the weekend.

As of Monday, April 20, there are 1,986 confirmed cases of Covid in Kansas, with 100 deaths statewide since the outbreak began.  The majority deaths reported have been in the northeast part of the state where the first cases started appearing in the state 7 weeks ago.
