After Boeing announced the extension of a production shutdown in Washington state, Spirit decided to extend employee furloughs for three weeks.
Original plans were to resume work for Boeing on Wednesday, April 8, but that’s now the start date for the new three week furlough. Employees in Kansas and Oklahoma who are impacted by this extension will not be paid during this time.
The original furlough started on March 25, and employees who were affected had been getting paid for the past two weeks.
A statement from Spirit says any employees who have been working from home will continue to do so.
