Kansas companies looking for workers amid outbreak

A number of Kansans are temporarily out of work because of the COVID-19 outbreak, but some companies actually need more workers right now.

Grocery stores have needed more help with stocking and cleaning, and several senior care facilities are hiring.

The state Department of Commerce is working to connect essential employers with people who need work, and you can find a running list of openings at kansasworks.com/coronavirus. These are all with companies who plan to stay open during this outbreak.

Kansas is dealing with a spike in unemployment, and if you need to apply for benefits or ask questions, you may not have much luck getting through by calling. Governor Kelly suggests doing everything online for the fastest response. You can use the link below to get more information.
