Coffey County has reported its first Covid-19 death.
It happened at the Life Care Center of Burlington. The patient was a 90-year-old woman who died Tuesday, just one day after being diagnosed with the virus.
“Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family, friends and caregivers,” said Coffey County Health Officer John Shell, M.D. “This is the announcement that we’d sincerely hoped would never be necessary.”
There are currently 16 cases in Coffey County linked to the Life Care Center.
