Governor Laura Kelly issues statewide stay at home order

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has issued a statewide stay at home order.

The order goes into effect Monday and will continue through at least April 19.  The governor has asked for a federal disaster declaration for Kansas to get needed resources to fight Covid-19.

Governor Kelly says despite our best efforts, the virus continues to spread, with the expectation that there could be up to 900 cases by the end of next week.  Under the order, you will still go to work if your job or business is essential, and you can go get food, medicine, or other household supplies, or seek medical care. You’re also able to take care of family members and this order does not prevent people from gathering privately, although that’s being discouraged. You don’t have to stay in your home, and if you’re doing something outside you’re urged to practice social distancing.

The full stay home order is at the following site. Executive Order 20-16
