38-year-old Eric McFadden, a man who was convicted of physically and sexually abusing his girlfriend’s children will spend the rest of his life in prison.
Sedgwick County District Judge Eric Williams sentenced McFadden Wednesday to three consecutive life sentences plus 86 months. A jury found McFadden guilty in February of two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, one count of rape, and five counts of abuse of a child.
The crimes were discovered in April of 2018. That’s when a 13-year-old boy walked into the Patrol North police substation and reported that his mother’s boyfriend had been abusing his 9 siblings.
The boy and the other children were taken into police protective custody. During the investigation, police learned that McFadden had sexually abused two of the young girls, and beat all of the children with belts or extension cords if they ate his snacks or “acted up.”
McFadden’s sentence is structured so that he will likely never leave prison. He has to serve a minimum of 82 years before he has the possibility for parole.
