Police in Hutchinson said a 55-year-old woman was attacked by a dog Monday afternoon, leaving her with significant injuries to both legs.
Officers were called to the 400 block of East Avenue A around 1:30 p.m., and they found two dogs on the scene. One of the dogs charged at officers, and one of the officers then shot and injured the dog.
The woman was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment, and the two dogs were taken to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter.
A 21-year-old man was arrested for one count of aggravated battery in connection with the case.
