If you’re not familiar with Jeff Buckley, I encourage you to look him up. INCREDIBLE singer/songwriter, guitar player. He was a sensational artist who was sadly taken from us FAR too early in 1997 at the age of 30.

He never really achieved massive fame during his short career, but left a library of unbelievable music, including a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” The song is already a classic, and pulls at every heart string in your body. But somehow, Buckley found a way to make it extra special.

Fast forward to this past weekend, Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy walks out on stage at L’Olympia in Paris, France with a familiar guitar. He had Buckley’s personal 1983 Telecaster, and performed one of the most intimate, and personal tributes I’ve seen in a long time.

Buckley was a big influence for Kennedy in his career, and took a moment to do something very special. Because on that stage, prior to his death, Buckley recorded an history live album featuring that cover, while playing that very guitar in Kennedy’s hands.

It’s truly amazing. You can watch the full performance below. Also, hear Buckley’s version of the classic.
