Voters will go to the polls Tuesday to cast ballots in a number of mayoral, city council and school board races in Sedgwick County.

Wichita has the mayor’s race, three city council seats and three school board seats on the ballot.   Incumbent mayor Jeff Longwell is being challenged by Brandon Whipple and by write-in candidate Lyndy Wells.     In the district two city council race, incumbent Becky Tuttle is being challenged by Joseph Scapa and Rodney Wren.    Incumbent council member Jeff Blubaugh is challenged by Beckie Jenek and Christopher Parisho in district four.    In district five, incumbent Bryan Frye is being challenged by Mike Magness.

In the Wichita school board races, incumbent Ernestine Krehbiel is unchallenged in district three.    Incumbent Stan Reeser is challenged by James Kilpatrick in district four, and the at large seat has incumbent Sheril Logan being challenged by Joseph Shepard.

There are also races for mayor, city council and school board offices in Bel Aire, Derby, Haysville, Park City, Valley Center and other communities.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
