A groundbreaking ceremony will be held next Thursday for a new hotel that will be built on the innovation campus at Wichita State University.

The 106-room Hyatt Place Hotel is expected to be open by summer of 2020.  The hotel will be within walking distance of the new Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, Starbucks, and Shocker Store, according to the university.

The hotel will have a fitness center, indoor pool, meeting spaces, a restaurant and bar, and free wifi.  The hotel is being privately financed.

A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 29.
