Matt Walst and Neil Sanderson have toured the world multiple times over, but recently tacked on a visit to Kenya as part of their MTN of Hope Humanitarian effort.

The two Three Days Grace members went into underprivileged communities to see firsthand how their initiative would be helping. They also brought their guitars to play with the locals, which included some 3DG songs, but Sanderson said the biggest response always came when they performed “If You’re Happy and you Know it,” which you can watch on the video below.

“We were inspired everywhere we went and by everyone we met because what we experienced isn’t what we thought it would be,” says Sanderson. “I learned that poverty is not hopelessness. Hope is around every corner, sometimes you just have to look for it.”

The 7-minute video is a pretty in-depth look at the guys’ trip, and the lessons they learned while abroad in the African nation.
