The City of Wichita has been named an All-America City for 2019 after a competition with 19 other finalist cities in the National Civic League. It’s the fifth time Wichita’s been given the award, and it’s the first time in a decade.
Wichita’s application included examples of the police department’s community engagement and body cams, the League 42 youth baseball program, and Open Streets ICT.
Ten communities are named All-America Cities each year. Wichita last won the award in 1999.
