How cool is this!

FREELAND, MI — As part of a tribute to a student killed in a car crash, the choir at Freeland Elementary School performed the song “Waking Lions” by the rock group Pop Evil.

They got a big surprise on April 22 when the band dropped by to say they enjoyed the choir’s performance. The students then sang “Waking Lions” to Pop Evil.

“To see that many kids from the younger generation singing our song, that just brought a tear to my eye,” said Leigh Kakaty, Pop Evil’s lead singer. “I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would see a group of 150 kids sing that song in front of us. It was extremely humbling.”

Not only did they get to MEET the band, but they also performed FOR the band when they walked in the door! Check out the Facebook post below from a local Detroit radio station that covered the encounter!
