Mastodon’s always got something cool for Record Store Day. This year didn’t disappoint.

The guys released a special edition 7″ vinyl with a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” on side-A, and a live performance on side-B. The song is special to the band, as they performed it at the funeral of their long-time manager Nick John, who died from Pancreatic Cancer in 2018. The cover of the album has John’s face on it.

All proceeds from their sales on Record Store Day went do the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Someone recorded the record digitally and released it on Youtube this week, which you can hear below. (NOTE: the audio isn’t perfect, and contains some skipping since it’s a direct rip from vinyl. Apparently this guy didn’t know how to clean his needle, or handle vinyl carefully.)
