Another round of freezing drizzle is expected in Wichita and in south central Kansas Wednesday night into Thursday morning, and some ice accumulations are expected.
A mix of freezing drizzle, sleet and flurries is expected overnight, and there could be a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation in Wichita. The heaviest ice will be in northeast and eastern areas of Kansas, where ice storm warnings are in effect. Snow could fall in northern Kansas, mainly north of Interstate 70 where one to two inches of accumulation are expected.
Motorists will have to deal with slick driving conditions in Wichita Thursday morning. Crews have put a salt and sand mix on the major routes, and they will continue to watch conditions during the nighttime and early morning hours.
A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Wichita and south central Kansas until 6 a.m. Thursday.
The Emergency Accident Reporting Plan remains in effect in Wichita, and an EARP will also remain in effect overnight in Reno County.
