There’s amazing stories, and then there’s the girl who literally sang through her own brain surgery.

Not to long ago, Kira Ioconetti was diagnosed with a tumor, the size of a marble, that was pressing against the auditory sensory portions of her brain. The 19-year-old music theater performer would have seizures when she listened to, or performed music.
“It’s this cruel, sick joke,” in her own words.
Doctors had the technology to remove the tumor, but wanted her to be awake, AND to perform, while they removed the brain tumor. This was so they didn’t interfere with any of her “talented” parts of the brain.
So she did it, and made it through with flying colors. Her song selection was perfect, too, picking Weezer’s “Island in the Sun” for its lyrics.
“Like an Island in the Sun,
We’ll be playing and having Fun,
And it makes me feel so fine, I can’t control my brain”
Sounds like she’s making a full recovery now, with no foreseeable side effects.
