  • Would you be a professional wrestler for one day?

...If you could be any pro wrestler in the world for just one day.....who would you choose to be?...would you be John Cena?.....CM Punk?.....The Miz?.....maybe you would be a diva for a day.....I would be tempted to do so just so i could get into the diva locker room!!!.....Maybe you would be the Undertaker and be him during Wresltemania...that would rock!....maybe you would be the high flying Ray Mysterio....whoever you would be, you have to admit it would be fun to do so for just one day...just one match......I hope you are having an outstanding Tuesday!

  • Lots of things happen in just a couple days!

...Over the past couple three days lots of things have happened!.....of course the one thing that has been all over the news is the theatre shooting in Colorado....my heart goes out to the victims and their families.....I will never understand what it is that motivates people to do these types of things... earlier today on FB i saw a comment that made me think for a minute.....and it was a simple comment in which someone was expressing how they saw the suspect who allegedly commited this atrocious act....they saw a picture of him taken when he was in court...they said the picture actually scared them because he simply had a look about him that scared them....and it made me think for a second as to whether or not it would have the same effect on me......and I then immediately thought......NO.....not in the least......whoever would commit an act of that nature is not someone to fear......instead that person is an absolute coward who chose to attack and kill innocent unarmed men women and children in order to get headlines....that person is a waste of space as far as i am concerned.....and is not worthy of my fear.....on another note I see they have taken down the Joe Paterno statue that was once outside of Beaver Stadium and have moved it inside of the stadium....the NCAA also announced sanctions on the Penn State program today and they were definitely harsh sanctions....no once can say they went easy on them that's for sure.....I do feel sorry for the student athletes that have competed as Penn State football players and had nothing at all to do with anything even remotely related to this scandal....when these types of things happen i not only think about the pain and suffering of the victims (which is unimaginable) but I also think of the negative and harmful effects it has on the innocent bystanders including those student athletes...what happened was beyond horrible and can not be forgotten...i hope and pray we learn from it and take measures to see that it doesn't happen again....Todd N Tyler in town this weekend!!!!!!!! hey thanks for stopping by............Rick

  • would you time travel if you could?

.....If you could go back in time and witness any event......what would you choose?....the signing of the Magna Carta?.....The Battle of Gettysburg?.....Woodstock?......the gladiator games in ancient Greece?.....the possiblilies are endless.....and of course we all would more than likely differ in what it is we would wanna witness....I would love to go back and be in the ballpark when Babe Ruth "called his shot"......I would also love to go back and see Alice in Chains performing live in some small smoky pub when they were no names......on a different note, come see me this weekend! Bourbon Street on friday night and Pleasures on Sat night! hope to see you soon...........Rick

  • Would you wanna be a Superhero?

......So if you could be any superhero for one day.....which one would you be?.....no right or wrong answer....just for fun, which one would you be?....Superman?...Batman?....Spiderman?.....Wonder Woman?.........or how about this....if you could be any superhero arch rival for one day, which one would you choose?...You have to admit the Joker would be fun.......or maybe Lex Luther......and lets face it....what girl hasn't at least thought it would be interesting and fun if nothing else to be cat woman?.....on a different note I will definitely be out and about this weekend!....Will be at Bourbon Street on Fri night and Hooters as well as Pleasures on Saturday! I do hope to see you soon! Rick.

  • What do you take for granted?

....Last night i was at my local watering hole after work.....decided to have a cold beer on the way home....maybe catch up on some baseball scores.....anyways i happened to overhear an older lady talking to her son at the table directly behind me......she was 93 years old......yes i said 93....and she was talking to him about what things were like when she grew up.....and from what i could piece together it was quite the tale.......i have nothing but respect for people of her generation.....and it made me really realize how much i take for granted.....i mean i try not to.....but i do....i can recall when i was a kid and making out my Christmas wish list when i was like 9 or 10.....and i hear her talking about the great depression and having to sleep on the floor because they couldnt afford beds.....haveing to eat potatos 5 to 6 days a week sometimes because it was all they had.....i hear her talking about when World War 2 broke out and how so many didn't wait to be drafted but immediately volunteered to defend their country.......i hear her talk about how her entire family would gather around the radio for everything from entertainment to weather reports to hearing the president speak......and when i hear her talking of these things i immediately think to myself how lucky i was to even have to opportunity to make out a Christmas list.....how lucky i was to be able to eat daily......how lucky i was to have the littlest of things that i did have growing up.....like i said...i have a tremendous amount of respect for those that came before us and helped pave the way for us........thank you for stopping by.........Rick

  • What did Tebow do now?

.....I guess Tim Tebow has been catching some flack for his antics during the Espys.....I watchted the Espys and to be honest I cant quite recall exactly what it was he did....I mean I remember him presenting an award......and I seem to recall he was involved with some kind of skit....I just don't remember the exact details of it all....I am by no means a Tim Tebow fan....If he were a Dallas Cowboy i would be....but he isn't so I am not.....On the other hand I have absolutely nothing against the guy.....what exactly did he do that has so many people in an uproar about him?....So many people just hate him and I have yet to figure out exactly why.....a skit on the Espys???? It's a skit....meant for entertainment nothing more.......you see that kind of thing all the time, yet when Tebow does it the world comes to a screeching halt and people start screaming for some reason.....Is it because he makes no bones about his religious belief structure and proudly wears it on his sleeve?.....Why is that such a bad thing?...so he prays.......Is that really such a bad thing?....kids look up to professional athletes with admiration and respect....and whether Charles Barkley likes it or not, pro athtletes are role models to some degree no doubt about it.....I would much rather have to explain to my 7 year old why it is that Tim Tebow prays....as compared to why it is that someone chooses to drive drunk.....assault someone....do illegal drugs.....or any variety of other things that are much worse than.....praying. I by no means am the most religious person myself...it's not like I am in church every Sunday lord knows.....but as far as I am concerned if Tim Tebow wishes to express/say a few things to the big guy while on the field.....more power to him.....I mean why on Earth would that bother me?....We all have a right to our own beliefs right?...I have heard people say...."well he is pushing his views on everyone".....really?...He didn't ask the media to make a collosal event out of him saying prayers before games......he didn't go to ESPN...CBS....NBC...ABC....etc etc and say to them....."hey I would love it if you all shot as much footage of me doing anything but playing football".......yes he does speak at churches in his spare time.....but he doesn't force people to attend when he does.....he doesn't put a gun to anyones head and make them come see him.....those that choose to go see him do so of their own freewill....anyways other than that I do hope you are having a great Monday and I do hope to see you soon! Rick

  • Beware! it is Friday the 13th!!

...Have you ever wondered how Friday the 13th became (at least in Western folklore) a day that many consider strange...unlucky...or perhaps even spooky?.....There are several prominent theories regarding it....for example, in numerology the number 12 is considered the number of completeness.....hence 12 months per year....12 hours of the clock...12 gods of Olympus....12 tribes of Israel....12 apostles...etc etc......whereas the number 13 is considered to be irregular....a transgression so to speak, of this completeness.....some claim this goes all the way back to the last supper in that having 13 people at a table is bad luck and will result in the doom of one of the 13 people...the concept of Friday being an unlucky day traces it's roots back to the 14th century when many believed Friday was a bad day to begin a journey or trek.....there is even a connection between Friday the 13th and the Knights Templar.......whatever the case may be.......welcome to Friday the 13th and God Speed!!! Rick

  • Who writes the best lyrics???

.....Whenever i get into discussions with people about music, it almost always always centers around the musicians themselves and it almost always comes down to who is a better guitarist.....or vocalist.......rarely does it come down to lyrics.....and to be honest to me lyrics are primarily what attracts me to a particular artist......you simply can not beat a good lyracist and when you find one that is outstanding.....you follow their work religiously.....there are just certain acts/bands/artists that write lyrics that simply get inside of you....become a part of you so to speak......it's different for everyone....we all have our own blueprints.....to me there are a couple three artists that come to mind when i think of lyrics that just hit home so to speak.....Pink Floyd comes to mind.......Shinedown.........definitely Seether.......whose lyrics to do you find addictive? thanks for stopping by...............Rick

  • Who would you like to see play the halftime show at the Superbowl?

......Rumors have been running rampant that.....are you ready for this?........Van Halen may be playing the halftime show at the Superbowl in Feb 2013........David Lee Roth recently said this about it...."I am compelled to address the now rampant rumors that Van Halen is playing the Superbowl... First of all let me say this....be still my pigskin heart....that honor has not been bestowed upon us at this time though it is one we would accept in a NY minute."......I have to admit that would be awesome!....I guess we will have to wait and see! Thank you as always for stopping by.....Rick

  • It's that time!!!!! All Stars on the horizon!!!!

....Tonight it's the Home Run Derby......tonight I will plant myself at my favorite neighborhood pub....grab a cold bud light....and partake in the annual observation of the All Star Game Home Run Derby festivities!!!....even if you are not a baseball fan....the Home Run Derby rocks.....baseball's biggest and baddest heavy hitters taking main stage and flexing their muscle....Robinson Cano will be back to defend his title (he won in 2011).....I for one can not wait!!!!...and then of course tomorrow night it's the All Star Classic....as the best of the American and National leagues square off for home field rights at the World Series.....I love this time of year!!!!! thanks for stopping by....Rick

  • Have you ever just "bumped" into a celebrity?

....A friend and I were talking just the other day about famous people we have ran into during the course of our daily lives......don't get me wrong it's not as if I hang out with major celebs on a daily basis.....far from it as a matter of fact lol.....but it did remind me of one time years ago when something completely unexpected occurred and I for one will never forget it...I was living in Kansas City at the time.....this had to be around 2000 or so...i would frequent a pub called "the Quaff"....it is located on 10th and Broadway in KC...I still go there to this day whenever I am in Kansas City....I stopped by there after work one Friday night......it was 12:30 or so and the place was packed....some friends of mine were already there and were sitting in a booth waiting for me...i joined them....ordered a Bud Light.....and settled into the booth....5 min later i feel this tap on my shoulder and i look up...this dude dressed in a trench coat with a stocking cap on....unshaven for several days it appeared.....almost looked homeless i swear....says to me...".mind if i join you guys.?...there's no other seats open."....I thought what the hell the more the merrier and i slid over so he could grab a seat......for the next hour we all had a few beers.....chatted about everything under the sun....sports.....girls.......the usual stuff guys will talk about over a beer.....then out of the blue it hit me like a ton of bricks.....this dude looked really familiar....it had been bothering me since he sat down.....i just couldnt place it........but when I finally did it hit me like a truck.....Keanu Reeves had joined us for a beer and we had been chatting with him all night....he was in town because he had a band and they had just finished a gig about two blocks away....apparently he decided to just walk downtown and go into the first bar he saw open.....I was doing shots with Neo....definitely not something that happens every day .... no one else there recognized him and we all kept it under our hats out of respect for his privacy.....just goes to show you never know who you may run into at any given time!!! thanks for stopping by.......Rick

  • New Orleans...or Vegas?....which would you choose?

....am currently in the process of trying to figure out where I wanna go this summer.....New Orleans or Las Vegas......I mean they both have their ups and downs...plusses and negatives so to speak....New Orleans has the French Quarter.....outstanding food.....night life that is off da hook!!!...not to mention the history of that city.....but Vegas is.....well .... Vegas....I mean where else in the world can you get a ribeye steak cooked just the way you like it....a lap dance from a girl that walked out of the pages of Playboy....a martini that would make Sinatra more than proud.....and a single roll of the dice that could net you thousands....all at 3:30am....perhaps I will just have to flip a coin........thanks for stopping by! Rick

  • Something HUGE happened on this day!

.....July 2nd..........most of us of course are very familiar with what happened on July 4th 1776.....America let the British know she would not be ruled/governed/instructed by anyone or anything.....and hence forth declared independence......as a result July 4th has become a date that is permanently ingrained within the mind frame of all Americans.....as it should be.....however do you know what occured on July 2nd, 1964?......something that also inpmactfully shaped this nation....something that was long overdue....something that as a nation we can be proud of.....on July 2nd 1964, Lyndon Johnson, the 36th President of the United States of America, signed into law the Civil Rights Act.....an historic piece of legislation that outlawed major forms of discrimination....it also ended racial segregation in schools....the bill was initiated by President Kennedy...signed into law by Johnson....To me it is things of this nature that make me proud to be an American...it is things like this that make this country great....thank you for stopping by as always......Rick

  • The 2012 Olympic Games are Almost Here!!

....Being a huge sports fan it is only natural for me to get excited about the Olympic Games 2012....they will begin In London during the last week of July.....I guess it's not as much the actual games as it is the stories behind the athletes that I find incredible....for example the ten year old boy who literally learned to swim on his back because he was afraid to put his head under water...he was ridiculed relentlessly as a child because of it......we know him as Michael Phelps....I would think he is getting the last laugh now......there are so many of these types of stories behind so many athletes involved in the Olympic Games.....I have a tremendous amount of respect for all of the athletes worldwide who make it to the Olympic Games.....simply getting there is such a HUGE accomplishment.....the endless training....the discipline it takes...they have to live eat and breathe what they are doing....24 hrs a day....for years and years at a time...and even then there are those that do so and still don't make the cut.......the dedication these athletes have to their craft is nothing short of incredible.....my hat is off to each and every one of them.....and I look forward to seeing them compete in about 3 weeks !!! thanks for stopping by Rick

  • What's your favorite firework?

.....The 4th of July right around the corner!!!! what would you say is your personal favorite firework?....there really is no right or wrong answer...I mean we all have our favorites....I prefer the classic Saturn Missile Battery.....it's unpredictability and multiple explosions absolutely rock!....of course there is always the good old Roman Candle....cant go wrong with it.....or even just the standard black cats.....and of course don't forget about the parachutes....they rock as well!....I admit I do miss bottle rockets......anyways whatever your favorite is, be safe and have fun over the 4th....that's what holidays are for!! Rick

  • How hot have you been?

...Oh those dog days of Summer!!!!...what is the hottest temperature you have ever experienced anywhere?.....when you think about it for a second.....yes it is hot here....it's definitely no picnic...but believe me there are far hotter places on Earth......Libya has been known to experience temps of over 130 F........that is insane!!!....Ethiopia has been known to hit 120 consistently....parts of South Africa have been known to hit 122 F.....Iraq 125 F .....if not hotter.......I can not imagine that!!!!! Death Valley Ca has registered temps of 134 F......luke i said.....we don't have it as bad as some do that's for sure!!! thanks for stopping by as always...........Rick

  • Who will be the next college football champs?

....Perhaps you already are aware of this....then again maybe you aren't.....The NCAA has approved a college football playoff format to determine the national champions (FINALLY!)....it will go into effect in 2014....I don't know all of the specifics but I do know it involved a 4 team playoff...basiclally the top 4 teams will end up competing for the national title....I like this idea primarily because of the obvious.....It will eliminate the what ifs and the ties......it will give the Boise States of the world so to speak the oppurtunity to prove themselves worthy of a national title...as compared to going unbeaten and not getting a shot......and of course the flip side is that it will give the perrenial contenders (the Alabama's....Oklahomas.....LSU's...etc) a chance to prove to the world they really can beat anyone......I am a HUGE fan of the traditional college football bowls and never wanna see those go away......which is yet another reason i like the 4 team playoff....in doing so they will easily be able to keep the current bowl system, in tact....I am nothing short of excited about the new format and can not wait till they get it under way! Hope to see you out and about soon.......Rick
