....Thank you Mathew Maguire.......thank you for proposing Labor Day as a national holiday in 1882 while serving as seccretary of the CLU of New York.....Oregon was actually the first state to honor it as a holiday in 1887....by 1894, the 30 states officially celebrated labor day.....President Cleveland evenutally signed it into federal legislation and made it a federal holiday for all states.....hey it's America and anything can happen!!! so once again.......thank you Mathew Maguire.....for this outstanding 3 day weekend and for those to come!.....thank you for stopping by..........Rick
