Doris Miller was a cook in the United States Navy and was stationed at Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941....when you get a chance, google his name and read his story....it is truly an amazing one and it is a story that I think we should all know about......I will tell you that he was the first African American in history to receive the Navy Cross as a result of his actions on that fateful day....I would like to say I can only imagine what it was like to have been there but to be honest I can not even do that....a sleepy Sunday morning.....exploding into a hellish 110 minute nightmare at the mere drop of a hat....we lost over 2300 lives on that Sunday morning....I obviously was not even alive yet...but I still will NEVER forget what occured 70 years ago today.....take a moment today and in your own way recognize those that lost their lives defending this country on that Sunday morning....I know I will........thank you for stopping by .................Rick
