...Do you remember where you were and exactly what you were doing when you heard about Dimebag Darrell's death?....I do....I have one of those weird mind frames that traps things of that nature....I was at home right after doing a remote broadcast in Old Town....it was after midnight and I had cracked a cold one and was doing my usual lets scan through 200 channels in thirty seconds routine when i caught a quick blurb on MTV about it....i caught it as i was scanning through and quickly flipped back to MTV .... you know how you think about fifty things in a mircosecond when something impactful happens?....those few seconds before i flipped the channel back to MTV I can vividly recall thinking to myself.....they didnt REALLY just say Dimebag Darrell had been shot.....they didn't REALLY just say Dimebag was dead......they didn't REALLY just say someone had climbed up on stage and ended Dimebag's life........DID THEY???????? I then recall setting there in stunned silence watching the reports come in.......I didnt wanna believe it....I just refused to believe something like that would or could happen....but it did....I then started to text/call people.....people who I knew would be up at that hour and people who i hoped and prayed would tell me it was just some kind of joke....that it didn't really happen.....and once reality set in.....and i cold no longer deny it.....I lit a cigarette....and poured myself something stronger than beer. Thank you as always for checking in......................Rick
